COSTLY PUTTING LAPSES BY ABERDEEN

TEENAGER IN FLORIDA TOURNAMENT

Florida-based Aberdeen teenager Gemma Dryburgh finished joint seventh in a quality field of 30 players at the Golf Week Junior Invitational tournament over the Tom Watson-designed course (par-72, 5,959yd) at Reunion Resort, Orlando in Florida at the weekend.
Putting lapses cost Gemma, pictured, a place in the top three. She three-putted seven times in returning scores of 79 and 74 for 153 - 10 shots behind the winner by six strokes, US girls champion Doris Chen (72-71) but only two in arrears of the third-placed player.
Dryburgh and Chen are both residential students at the IMG David Leadbetter Golf Academy at Bradenton, Florida.
